WMU TEAM CAMP rosters and schedules have been handed out to participants. ALL GAMES ARE SATURDAY at the Seelye Center (click here for map). Team Brown (mostly freshmen and sophomores) will play in the morning and Team Orange (mostly juniors and seniors) will play in the afternoon. For schedules and rosters, click here.
ALL PLAYERS MUST HAVE A PHYSICAL ON FILE IN THE ATHLETIC DIRECTOR'S OFFICE IN ORDER TO TRY OUT. The physical must have been completed after April 15, 2006 to be valid for the spring season.
Tryouts Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday (March 12, 13, & 14) will be at SoccerZone on Sprinkle from 3:25 to 4:55 each day due to the wet outdoor conditions that will exist when the snow finally melts. If you need help with transportation, call your friends and find a ride.
GAME SCHEDULES AVAILABLE ON highschoolsports.net
(scroll down for girls)
Note the scrimmages Monday March 26 at Kalamazoo Christian, and the first
games Thursday March 30 at Plainwell, so plan your spring break departure as
appropriate.
Thanks to everyone who voted for the Portage School Facilities Improvement bond issue on Feb 27. We'll try again later this year.
Makeup date for the WMU Saturday training
cancelled by the blizzard is Saturday March 24 4:30-6:00 (GK training 5:30-6:30)
WMU TEAM CAMP
PN will have two groups that will train together for two days (Tues/Thurs March 6 & 8) and will play separately in the weekend tournament (March 11 or 12). Coach Fuehr needs confirmation from interested players, and will be taking payments ASAP. Signups will also be done at the voluntary workouts after school. All players are welcome. The cost is $75 (checks made out to "WMU Soccer") & a medical release must be filled out and turned in if you have not done one this year.
*This is a voluntary opportunity, participation is not required, and participation does not guarantee a spot in the 2007 Portage Northern Women's Soccer Program
Tickets will soon be available for lunch at Carabbas Saturday April 21. Tickets will be $10.00 each with all proceeds going to the Portage Northern Soccer Program. Lunch will be served from 12-2 and take-out will be available from 12-4. Mark your calendars now, and more details will be available soon.
Tryouts begin March 12 and depending on weather will either be 3:30-6:00 at Husky Field or 3:25-4:55 at SoccerZone on Sprinkle. An announcement will be made Friday March 9. To find out what your teammates are doing to prepare themselves for tryouts and a successful spring campaign, read the information packet prepared by Coach Fuehr. This contains important info about goals and expectations as well as a handy calendar. Workouts are after school from 3:15 to 4:15 Monday through Thursday. Mondays and Wednesdays are at the indoor track in the DogHouse while Tuesdays and Thursdays are at the weight room in the Igloo.
Saturday January 20 was the first week of our WMU Team Training. Makeup date for the Saturday cancelled by the blizzard is Saturday March 24 4:30-6:00 (GK training 5:30-6:30). THIS IS VOLUNTARY & IS NOT REQUIRED TO TRYOUT FOR THE PORTAGE NORTHERN GIRLS SOCCER PROGRAM.
